I would make sure the site is open, first. Sometimes managers will close the site for a few days following a fire until the fire is completely out. I imagine it's open, and I would wait until mid April before backpacking into the woodlands there. That way, the spring green up will be a lush carpet and the wildflowers will be exquisite. A rule of thumb following a fire, just wait until a rain has settled the ash and then it won't get all over your tent. Have fun!Allison Vaughnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08818790458321431417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7770040501124297598.post-37375052072214201022009-03-30T09:30:00.000-04:002009-03-30T09:30:00.000-04:00Yea!! I'm surprised you didn't mention anything about being claustrophobic. With you right above, I think that would've been an issue for me.Laurahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18050407137136257948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7770040501124297598.post-79294545083899549632009-03-29T00:06:00.000-04:002009-03-29T00:06:00.000-04:00Yeah for Debbie!! I've always wondered about tarps--supposedly great for gravel bar camping in the summer--but with the hammock, who needs a bed?Allison Vaughnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08818790458321431417noreply@blogger.com
